I have missed the closing date can I still apply?

Candidate application advice and support

When you apply for a role with esure, we’ll usually ask you to complete an online application as well as uploading your CV.  Your CV will provide us with a record of your personal and employment history. That means there are a few things to bear in mind when you’re completing it!:

  • It’s really important for your job application to be complete and correct, especially when adding dates and addresses. This will help us to gain a more accurate picture of you and your experience. Please ensure that you cover any gaps in employment or reasons for leaving on your CV. If you are applying via your mobile phone please remember to save your CV to the cloud, dropbox or google drive.

  • Let us know exactly why you are the right person for the role! Sell yourself and the skills and abilities you can bring to the job. For example, if you believe that you excel in customer service then tell us why. We know that skills and experience are important, but whatever you have to offer, let us know! 

What happens next?

We will review your application against the requirements of the role you have applied for. If you’re successful, we’ll then be in touch to arrange an interview. Your first interview may take place over telephone, with one of the recruitment team. They’ll ask you specific questions about your work experience and your aspirations.

 

Before your telephone interview make sure that you:

 

  • Are somewhere quiet where you can talk openly about your career history and work experience.

  • Have your CV to hand during the interview so you can refer to your work experience and achievements.

  • Explore the rest of our careers site to make sure you have a good understanding of esure - don’t be afraid to ask questions if you have any.

Face to Face interview

If you are successful after initial screening you may be asked to attend either a face to face interview or assessment centre.  You may also be asked to complete on line tests.

 

Give yourself plenty of time to prepare for the interview and check you know where to be on the day. Remember an interview is a two way process and we want you to be sure that you want to work with us so make sure you bring along any questions that you have about the role, esure and what its like to work here.

 

Interviews with us are usually split into two parts – a biographical interview and then a competency based interview. For some roles we may also ask you a few technical questions.

 

In the biographical section we will ask you more detailed questions around previous roles and why you want to work for esure. In the competency based section we will ask you a series of questions around esure’s core competencies. This means asking you to describe an event that actually happened to you. We ask these so that you can demonstrate your skills and experience for the role. In your answer, please focus on a relevant situation from your work history. 

 

Remember to:

 

  • Describe the situation that you were in or the task that you needed to complete. You must describe a specific event or situation, not a general description of what you’ve done in the past. Be sure to give enough detail for the interviewer to understand. This situation can be from a previous job, or from any relevant activity such as school, university or college.

  • Tell us about what you did personally. So even if we ask for an example around team work, tell us what you did specifically as part of that team.

 

Assessment Centres may include a role play or a written exercise. Again, don’t worry about these. They are designed to give you an idea of what the role consists of and what you will actually be doing on a day to day basis.

 

If you are invited to an interview or assessment centre, please remember to bring your passport or birth certificate, as well as printed proof of address dated within the last three months.
